In this individual research, I want to focus on the effect an accent has on the perception of other people. People have always had opinions on others based on the way they look and speak. I want to find out how big the influence of your accent is on the impression you give.

It appears as though we love nothing more than making lists of the sexiest accents, the most hated accents or other rankings. We like discussing the accents we like and want to have. Hollywood and  TV also show their affections for accents and the effect they can have on our emotions.

In the following pages, I will try to explain what I find fascinating about accents and what we as human beings have decided.
